When stretching, do every stretch in the aligned posture because this will activate the tight areas that need stretching out. Stretching your body in your misaligned posture only exacerbates your misalignment so bring awareness to the position and movements.
Only go as far as you are able IN ALIGNMENT. If your body shifts out of alignment in a stretch, you have gone past your body’s current limits of flexibility in movement. Go back to the alignment and stay with the tension where you’re at, then slowly open yourself.
On an emotional level, all these areas you’re stretching out refer back to the specific emotions held in that part of the body. You are emotionally training yourself to expand your emotional capacity and flexibility.
